Cimic, ACS’s Australian subsidiary, together with Acciona, has secured new contracts in Australia to carry out works on railway lines and stations in the Melbourne area, with a view to establishing a rail link between the city and the airport, according to the Victorian State Government.
The total investment for the scheme amounts to around 12,000 million Australian dollars (7,512 million euros) and is structured in three main phases. The contracts awarded to Cimic — through its subsidiary CPB Contractors — and Acciona form part of the first phase, valued at 2,570 million euros, although they cover only two of the five lots into which this initial phase is divided.
The package awarded to Cimic involves the construction of two new platforms for regional services at Sunshine station, the extension of the upper concourse, the creation of additional access points on both sides of the station, and the modernisation of the bus interchange.
