Acciona wins a renewable electricity transmission project in Australia worth 410 million euros

Acciona has been awarded a contract by the Western Australian state government to build a new transmission terminal south of Darkan — 200 kilometres from Perth — and construct two 330 kV transmission lines, worth 655 million Australian dollars (410 million euros).

Known as Clean Energy Link East, the initiative will connect the region’s new renewable energy developments to the existing grids and enable the supply of clean energy to one million households. The project is key to upholding the state’s commitment to close coal-fired power stations by 2030.

As well as strengthening the security and reliability of the electricity supply for industry and households, the infrastructure will create capacity for the future deployment of renewable generation plants in the area.
